BUILDING SAFETY ACT  

BUILDING SAFETY ACT   The Building Safety Act introduced to protect leaseholders has brought about its own problems.  Leases granted in blocks of flats after 14 February 2022 are not protected by the Building Safety Act thus capturing lease extensions.   This results from an issue in the drafting of the Act which the government are looking to resolve via legislation.  If you are considering an extension of your lease in the interim you are advised to seek advice.
